Hull Particular Average Adjusting

In the event of an accident and the vessel is damaged, in addition to the Repair charges of the repairers, port charges, agency fees, owner’s superintendent expenses etc. would be incurred. Hull Particular Average Adjusting is to apportion such fees and expenses between Particular Average which is payable as the insurance proceeds and Remainder which is for the owner’s account. In addition to this Hull Particular Average Adjusting, we offer the followings;

① Adjusting of Loss of Hire Insurance
② Preparing opinion letter as to if the claim is covered by insurance
③ Preparing opinion letter as to if constructive total loss is constituted
④ Assessment of the claimed amount (mainly port charges, loss of hire claim etc.) by the opponent vessel in a collision claim

Assessment of Cost of Repairs

Assessment of Cost of Repairs is done by Hull Claims Advisors who have many years of experience in the leading engineering and shipbuilding company in Japan. In addition to such assessment, we offer the followings;

① Preparing technical opinion letter as to the cause of the damages
② Preparing technical opinion letter as to the number of accidents
③ Assessment of the claimed amount (mainly the cost of repairs etc.) by the opponent vessel in a collision claim

Glossaries

Particular Average
A particular average loss is a partial loss of the subject-matter insured, caused by a peril insured against, and which is not a general average loss. Perils insured against are sinking, grounding, fire, collision and other perils of the seas.

Particular Average Adjusting
Adjusting is made in accordance with the policy conditions. If the insurance is subject to English law and practice, Adjusting is made in accordance with English law and practice. If there is no mention in Rules of Practice on a particular case, we compile a statement which we consider is fair to the parties concerned.

Assessment of Cost of Repairs
The reasonable cost of the repairs the assured is entitled to is the reasonable cost of repairing the vessel so as to make her nearly as possible equal to what she was before the casualty. Therefore assessment of the cost of the repairs is essential to calculate the reasonable cost of the repairs.
